Creative Work Room

The Creative Work Room and the equipment located there are intended for use by students, PhD students and employees of the Wroclaw Medical University. The room is located in the WMU Main Library at ul. Marcinkowskiego 2–6, 1st floor of CNIM, room 1A 137. The room can be used during the opening hours of the WMU Main Library.

Access to the Creative Work Room is subject to prior reservation of a workstation. To do so, please send an e-mail from your university e-mail address to: makerspace@umw.edu.pl to obtain confirmation of your reservation. Only persons who have been previously registered under the supervision of the WMU Library employee may stay in the room. It is forbidden to transfer a reserved workstation to other persons.

Creative Work Room equipment

3D printers are available to users::

• 3 x Anycubic Kobra S1 Combo filament printer (two new ones available soon)
• 1 x Anycubic Photon Mono M7 Maxresin printer (available soon)

Computer workstation for 3D graphics, equipped with:

• Intel i7-14700 processor, 32 GB RAM and RTX 2000 Ada Generation graphics card
• 34″ monitor
• peripherals: 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse, Huion graphics tablet

Scanning devices:

• Creaform Go!SCAN SPark 3D scanner with software and dedicated HP ZBook 17 G6 laptop
• Zeutschel OS 12002 book scanner (up to A2+ format) with dedicated computer

Software enabling the implementation of creative and prototype projects:

• Autodesk Fusion – 3D model design
• Anycubic Slicer – preparation of models for 3D printing
• Blender – 3D design and video production
• Affinity Photo 2, Designer 2, Publisher 2 – 2D graphics
• Krita – 2D graphics
• Canva – 2D graphics
• GIMP – 2D graphics
• Adobe Acrobat Pro DC – PDF file editing

3D printing

In the Creative Work Room, it is possible to make 3D prints after prior approval of the model by the WMU Library employee. Prints are made using consumables available in the room (depending on current stock levels) or using your own materials, after prior approval. Prints requiring a large amount of material (over 200 g) or a long processing time (over 12 hours) may be subject to restrictions.
